Even though we weren’t able to get in the woods until late morning, we knew we had to give it a chance. After setting up in one spot and patiently - well almost patiently waiting out the 30-minute rule and hearing nothing, we decided it was time to move.
Making our way to a beautiful ridge top in the hardwoods, we sat down at 12:40 pm and planned to wait till at least 1:10.
At 1:08, of course, a gobble would come from our last location. When we made a shift to face in his direction to the south, we had no idea a different gobble would soon come from straight north of us. Thankfully, I was able to make a quick shift after feeling that earth-shaking sound about 50 yards behind us. Three longbeards were sneaking in through the hardwoods! Adrian was able to sweet talk them right into range and the rest is evident in the pictures!
